My Dad

Happy 70

My Dad, has been a friend,

Since I can’t remember when

I remember him at little league games

And all of his familiar sayings

Keep your eye on the ball,

You’ve got to swing through . . .

Keep your glove down . . .

You’ve got to field it,

Before you can throw them down.

Little league was such good times,

 Indian Guides, and sometimes

 We had to come home

Early for a game so I could

Be a part of little league fame

As I grew, he let me grow

Taylor’s Falls, St. Croix River, and Orlando

I jumped off cliffs. I skied on high,

Winnebago trips, and Snowbird flips

He let me go, now I know why.

I see him sleep

And through his eyes

I see unforgotten skies.

When I was young

And dreams were high

He lifted me with his replies

Keep your head down

Follow though

Always know that

I love you

                                I Love you Dad
