September 11th, 8:45 AM, the sound of a jet airliner came crashing in.
We watched with our horror as smoke filled the air,
And people like butterflies flew from despair.
Eighteen minutes later another one’s there.
It hit like the first, without remorse,
The World Trade Center, a target of course.
We watched and we wondered who could it be,
That sent these terrorists to me.
People were jumping, as smoke filled the towers
Others attempted to flee Satan’s powers
Where could they run, where could they turn,
But down the stairs, as they came out,
Rescuers were there.
As we watched, as we thought, and as we prayed
Another plane at the Pentagon lay
In the smoke, and the fear, loved one’s were called
From an airplane, in the air, not destined bound.
The passengers were determined, and they said a prayer.
They rose to the occasion, needed right there.
The fourth plane came down,
Many were lost, many more saved,
From the Patriots, on that infamous plane.
As we watched, the towers fell, more smoke filled the air,
Too many to save, rescuer’s were there.
The Rescuers, Firefighters, Police and Volunteers
Too many to forget perished there.
United we stand, together we pray, America we are.
